    Natural Hair update

    It’s been a month since I began using the Nicky Cosmetics shampoo and masque. I did mention that I would update if there have been any changes to my hair and so far there has been none. My hair is actually growing really well and I have reduced my wash routine a bit. Instead of using a conditioner after shampooing I now only use the masque and after rinsing out the masque I skip the leave-in and go straight for a curl-enhancing mousse followed by gel.

    I am currently using:

    Design Essentials Curl Enhancing Mousse

    This is actually a new product for me, I’ve been hearing a lot about how good a mousse is for a wash and go I decided to try one out. I originally wanted to try The Doux Mousse Def Texture Foam but I could not find it to buy so I asked some other naturals and they suggested Design Essentials.

    I wasn’t very impressed at first because I didn’t use the proper technique. I applied the foam all over my hair and raked through it without separating it into sections which lead to a lot of my hair clumping together in big pieces. It was not a good look and I was sure the product was to blame. I watched a few videos and learned that I should have applied the mousse to smaller sections one at a time. Since then I’ve had much better success at using the mousse for wash and go.

    Activilong Acticurl Curl Activator Gel

    This isn’t the first time I’ve used the Curl Activator Gel from Activilong but it is the first time I’ve used it with a mousse.

    Depending on my mood I will omit the gel and use just the mousse but I prefer the extra definition using the gel gives me.

    This was also my first time doing finger coils. It’s far from being perfect but I really liked how it came out. It took a long time to do though!

    I’m unsure if I will do this every wash day, if anything I might save it for when I’m feeling especially attractive or some fancy event.

    I also bought the Activilong Acticurl Leave in when I bought the gel, occasionally I will use it before applying my mousse and gel, leave-in isn’t really necessary in my routine and it is a hard habit to break. I’m unsure if I will buy anymore when this bottle is empty.

    Summer months are approaching and I’m going to have to find some hairstyles that take my hair off my neck because the hot sun and lose curls are not a combination I’m looking forward to experiencing.

  • New Sun Voxbox

    Ah Influenster, you have done it again…

    On March 20, I was chosen to take part in the Sun Voxbox, I was supposed to receive 3 tablets to clean my dishwasher. I was really excited because this was my first non-beauty Voxbox, we have a small dishwasher and we could have used those tablets but unfortunately just like my OPI Rainbow Voxbox last year it never showed up.

    While I was waiting to see if the Voxbox would ever show up I received not one but two surveys, I’m really grateful to receive surveys but what good is getting into the campaign if I never receive the items?

    I have no idea who they shipped with this time but if by some chance someone sees this post, use La Poste, I’ve never had any problems receiving my Voxboxes when they were shipped with them.

    I’m still super interested in the product so I think I will buy it myself to test.

  • New innisfree Sérum Hydratant – Graines de Thé Vert

    J’ai reçu ce produit gratuitement à des fins de test de la part de Sampleo et innisfree Europe.

    Selon Wikipedia, innisfree est une marque de cosmétiques orientée vers le naturalisme, créée par Amore Pacific en 2000. Le nom de la marque dérive du poème du poète irlandais W. B. Yeats, “The Lake Isle of Innisfree”.

    Qu’est-ce que c’est ?

    Le sérum hydratant intensif innisfree aux graines de thé vert est un sérum léger mais nourrissant qui reconstitue instantanément l’hydratation de votre peau pour un teint doux et éclatant.

    Il est formulé avec un mélange d’extrait de thé vert de Jeju et d’huile de graines de thé vert qui agissent ensemble pour aider à maintenir l’équilibre délicat de la peau et à retenir l’humidité plus longtemps.

    Il convient à tous les types de peau et traite les problèmes suivants : sécheresse, aspect terne et texture irrégulière.

    Conseils d’utilisation :

    • Utiliser matin et soir.
    • Appliquez après avoir lavé votre visage.

    Je n’ai pas beaucoup de problèmes de peau, à part des cernes, donc je n’étais pas sûre de voir une grande amélioration. Après l’avoir utilisé pendant presque un mois, je peux dire sans me tromper que mon visage est plus lumineux et plus hydraté.

  • Birthday gifts to Myself

    February 17 was my birthday and this year I decided to get myself some gifts. I bought two things The Jewel Toned Palette by Sample Beauty which I ordered through Beauty Bay, this is the first time I’ve ever ordered from them, and Eye Bright Illuminating Under Eye Concealer from Revolution Beauty.

    I actually got this palette for practically free thanks to an ad I saw on Facebook. I only had to pay for shipping which came up to only 3,95€ !

    This palette is amazing and for that price, I felt like I won the lottery. It is highly pigmented, very easy to blend and the colors last all day long, I can’t recommend it enough.

    It is originally priced at 22,25€ which is not bad at all. It’s currently Out of Stock but keep an eye on it because you definitely need it in your collection.

    Now let’s talk about ordering from Beauty Bay, whew chile! It was crazy, I bought the palette on Feb 17 and it shipped the very next day but I didn’t receive it until March 3.

    I was stressed. You could not convince me that it hadn’t been lost in the mail even though I should have accounted for Brexit and the holiday rush.

    Eye Bright Illuminating Under Eye Concealer

    To say that I’m unimpressed by this would be an understatement, I’m downright disappointed, this concealer is pretty watery and did not cover my dark circles, it blended into my foundation nicely but that’s about it.

    I don’t know maybe I got the wrong shade, there was a shade finder but it could not find a match with any of my foundations so I choose the one I thought was closest to my shade.

    I bought Medium.

    I got a discount on this for my birthday so I only paid 8,49€

    Update 2023: They seemed to have reformualted this product and changed the packaging. Maybe this product will have better results but I’m not really interested in finding out, you can find it here Makeup Revolution Eye Bright Illuminating Under Eye Concealer Warm Tan for 9,99€

  • Nouveau Le Petit Marseillais BIO Feuille d’Olivier

    J’ai été heureux d’être sélectionné comme Le Petit Ambassadeur pour ma deuxième campagne avec Le Petit Marseillais.

    Ma dernière campagne a été Le Petit Marseillais 1 Minute Masque (Fraîcheur de Rose and Délice de Miel)

    Cette fois-ci, je découvre trois produits :

    • Feuille d’Olivier Gel Douche Refraîchissant
    • Shamppoing gel Forece & Éclat (Pomme et Feuille d’Olivier BIO)
    • Feuille d’Olivier Gelée nettoyante

    Gel douche refraîchissant

    Je m’attendais à une consistance plus proche du gel, mais c’était très liquide.

    Même s’il était liquide, ce gel de douche a bien moussé et a laissé une sensation de propreté sur ma peau.

    Le parfum n’a pas non plus posé de problème : il est très léger et pas aussi fort que la gelée nettoyante.

    Shampooing gel Force & Éclat

    Je suis un grand utilisateur de produits capillaires et j’aime utiliser différents shampooings, après-shampooings et autres produits et celui-ci n’était pas mon préféré.

    Il s’agit d’un gel de shampooing que je n’ai jamais utilisé auparavant et je ne peux pas dire que je vais probablement en utiliser un autre après cette expérience.

    Il a bien moussé, mais j’avais l’impression qu’il était trop lourd pour mes cheveux et je n’aimais pas la sensation de mes cheveux après l’avoir utilisé.

    J’ai fini par avoir beaucoup de frisottis, beaucoup plus que d’habitude, je n’ai pas utilisé d’autres nouveaux produits que celui-ci, donc je sais que c’est grâce à ce shampoing.

    La seule bonne chose que je peux dire de ce produit, c’est qu’il sent vraiment bon.

    Votre utilisation peut varier, donc si vous êtes intéressé par un shampoing bio, celui-ci ne coûte que 2,40€, donc je vous conseille d’essayer.

    Gelée nettoyante

    C’était la première fois que j’utilisais un gel nettoyant et je dois dire que j’ai été très impressionné !

    Je me suis sentie très bien sur mes mains et ça a vraiment bien nettoyé. Le seul problème que j’ai rencontré, c’est le parfum, mais il ne dure pas longtemps.

    Bonjour à tous !

    Comme vous le savez peut-être tous en suivant mon blog ou peut-être est-ce votre première visite ? Je suis une passionnée de cheveux naturels et j’adore essayer de nouveaux produits capillaires.

    J’ai récemment vu une campagne se dérouler sur Voo.paris avec les produits capillaires Nicky Cosmetics Paris. J’ai tout de suite été intriguée et j’ai donc rejoint la campagne.

    J’ai été acceptée !

    Mais mon bonheur a été de courte durée…

    En attendant mon colis, j’ai vu des messages et des témoignages d’utilisateurs qui disaient avoir perdu des cheveux après avoir utilisé ce produit. J’avais peur d’être honnête, mais j’ai décidé de me renseigner sur les ingrédients des produits.

  • Revolumisants Anti-Âge Jour – Revitalift Filler de L’Oréal Paris

    Lorsque j’ai reçu ce courrier, j’ai été pris par surprise. Même si j’avais postulé, je n’ai jamais reçu un courriel ou un mot disant que j’avais été sélectionné !

    C’est en fait ma deuxième campagne avec Le Lab Doctissimo. L’année dernière, j’ai été sélectionnée pour le Gel-Crème Multi-Restaurant au Chanvre et l’Huile Sommeil Visage de Garnier Bio, que vous pouvez lire sur le lien ci-dessus

    Je viens d’avoir 34 ans, alors quand j’ai lu sur la boîte de cette crème qu’elle était destinée aux femmes de 40 ans et plus, j’avoue que j’ai été très offensée, mais je vieillis et il a déjà été mentionné que vous devriez commencer à prendre soin de votre peau avant les premiers signes de vieillissement.

    J’ai commencé à l’utiliser dès que je l’ai reçu parce que je voulais voir s’il y aurait une différence notable dans ma peau.

    La crème est comme toutes les autres, facile à appliquer, sans odeur forte, et elle s’absorbe rapidement mais c’est là qu’elle se termine.

    J’ai l’impression que la crème n’a absolument rien fait pour ma peau.

  • Update – New Opi Rainbow Voxbox France

    This has been an epic ride with Influenster, I already received two Voxboxes (Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara and Opi Tokyo Collection) from them with no problem but this one has given me nothing but grief since August 2020.

    In the beginning, I was very excited because this was my third Voxbox after being on the site since 2014 but as time went on and I hadn’t received my box I started to wonder if maybe I should just give up on the box ever coming.

    I just gave up after that because the first campaign ended then they extended it and that one ended as well and I got an email asking me to input my current address on November 7, 2020. Nothing after that except endless emails asking me to review my nail polishes, the same polishes that I did not have, I can’t lie but I was getting very frustrated with the site. On January 22, 2021, I received an email saying I was in the Opi Rainbow Voxbox again! Nothing was on my dashboard though so I assumed it was a mistake, 5 days later the campaign showed up on my dashboard I was less than impressed and didn’t expect to receive anything again.

    On February 22, 2021, with just 2 days left in this campaign I received my Voxbox, and it was just by pure chance I think, I was coming out of my house to go pick up my son from school and I saw this poor delivery man looking confused, he asked me if I knew this person “my name” well yes, that’s me. He was so happy lol, I had to go back to the house and put down the package because I didn’t feel like trying to balance it on the stroller.

    Once I had dropped my son back to school and had the day to myself (mostly!) I put on my fake nails and tried on my new polishes.

    I like the colors that I received and am impressed with how fast they dry, my last box was all Infinite Shine so this is my first time using the regular lacquers.

    To make things more interesting on February 11, 2021, while I was still waiting for this elusive package I received a survey for cleaning products. Even more interesting they asked if I would post the reviews in French, they never asked before but I have no problem doing that just hope they don’t want a speaking video.

    Bienvenue, j’ai récemment reçu deux produits Laura Mercier pour tester et donner mes avis honnêtes, j’ai reçu la Base Teint Illuminatrice et le fond de teint Perfection Éclat.

    Je commencerai par dire qu’avant le mois dernier, lorsque j’ai reçu le Quench Hydrating Primer from Tarte, je n’avais jamais utilisé de produit de maquillage. Je ne pensais pas que cela faisait une si grande différence et l’utilisation de la base teint Quench n’a pas du tout changé mon avis.

    J’ai eu tort !

    Base De Teint Illuminatrice

    Size: 1.7 oz/ 50 mL

    À propos du produit :

    Ce que c’est : Un apprêt illuminant, à base d’eau, avec des perles réfléchissant la lumière, qui améliore la luminosité de la peau et prolonge la tenue du maquillage.

    Ingrédients mis en évidence :
    – Perles micronisées : Éclaircit et nourrit le teint, donnant à la peau un éclat lumineux.
    – Extrait de fleur de porcelaine : favorise l’éclat à long terme.
    – Complexe réflecteur de lumière : Crée un effet apaisant sur la peau et atténue l’apparence des imperfections.

    Appellations des ingrédients : Exempt de sulfates SLS et SLES, de parabènes, et contient moins d’un pour cent de parfums synthétiques.

    Ce que vous devez savoir : La formule respirante scelle le soin de la peau et crée une barrière protectrice qui prolonge la tenue du maquillage. Elle est formulée avec des ingrédients qui aiment la peau, donc non seulement elle protège la peau, mais elle est aussi bonne pour la peau.

    À la première impression, c’était comme une crème chatoyante par rapport au gel primer que j’ai utilisé le mois dernier. Il a été assez facile à appliquer et a laissé ma peau hydratée et lumineuse.

    Résultats cliniques : Un test indépendant réalisé auprès de 29 femmes utilisant le fond de teint perfecteur d’éclat Flawless Lumière, après 2 semaines :
    – 83 % des personnes interrogées ont déclaré que leur peau était lumineuse et avait un aspect naturel.
    – 90 % des personnes interrogées ont reconnu que le produit n’avait pas l’air gras et ne donnait pas l’impression de l’être.
    – 83 % ont reconnu que leur peau était radieuse

    La nuance que j’ai reçue était 4N1 (Suntan) ; elle est décrite comme un bronzage avec des sous-entendus neutres.

    Une chose est sûre, j’aime que mes fonds de teint aient un fini naturel. Je ne suis pas une grande accro du maquillage et je préfère un aspect naturel et comme il s’agit d’une formule légère avec une couverture moyenne et un fini naturel, elle me convenait parfaitement.

    Tarte, if you don’t know is an American cosmetics company that was founded in 2000, their products first caught my eyes I want to say about 3 to 4 years ago. I can’t remember what product it was that interested me but I quickly joined Team Tarte. Team Tarte is their loyalty program where you can earn points that enables you to get some free stuff with your purchases. Just opening an email from Tarte gets you 10 points. I didn’t make a purchase before because while I enjoyed makeup that was inexpensive Tarte is anything but. My eyes saw more than my pockets could handle but this year I decided I was going to splurge a little and get something for myself since I don’t usually get any gifts.

    I still had a budget mind you so I went on the site and looked for things that were interesting to me but not that expensive. I immediately saw the Hydration Celebration Hydrating Skincare Set for 23,00€ (47€ Value), what exactly is this set about? Well, this is what the description says:

    Celebrate good skin, come on! These 4 hydration sensations feel ultra-lightweight & quench your skin’s thirst.

    SET INCLUDES

    • full-size quench lip rescue in rose

    The small sizes of the products didn’t bother me since I have a few other products I’m currently using. I thought this would be a good way for me to try out the products before committing to the bigger sizes.

    With my order I received a sample card of Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation in Medium, there are five different shades you can swatch to find your perfect match.

    While I was there I decided to use some of my points and collect some rewards. I took the Birthday Set which is two cult classics but in mini size. It’s the Amazonian clay 12-hr blush in Quirky and the Lights, Camera, Lashes, 4-in-1 Mascara.

    I also took a Deluxe SEA Wink h20 Vegan Collagen Eye Cream

    Reviews

    I tried out my purchases today and the first thing I applied was the Eye Cream, it is a bit thick in consistency, there’s no smell, and doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy. Since this is my first use I will come back after I have used it a while to update you on how I like it.

    I next applied the moisturizer, it feels very light and went on smoothly, the scent is not strong at all which I like, my skin feels moisturized, once again I’ll update after using it a while.

    The next step, the primer, has a gel-like consistency which I was not expecting, it went on smoothly and did not leave my skin feeling like there was something on it.

    I then applied my foundation, my preferred YSL Touche Eclat, after it was the eyeshadow, the mascara which I like a lot because it gave me length and that dark color without the spider effect, and then the blush, followed by the gloss which is just that, a gloss, I prefer my glosses to have a bit of color to them so I’ll probably add this over a lipstick, and finally the setting spray which smells like very citrusy and I panicked a bit thinking I might break out due to my allergies but so far my skin is still smooth and bump-free.

    Out of all these products, I think I enjoy the mascara the most and will probably consider buying it again, the rest? I’m not very impressed with them so far.
